Reflections On The Speaking World
with
Dr Louise Livingstone & Mary Attwood
Tuesday 20th December 2022
6.30pm – 8pm (UK time) via Zoom
FREE
As a thank you to all of our supporters over the past year, we would love you to join us as we share excerpts from several texts that have moved us in relation to the topic of The Speaking World.
As we move into the darkest part of the year, we invite you to join us as we reflect on these texts, which bring light and illumination. We will begin the session listening to the texts detailed below, whilst at the same time focussing on specific images. Following this, we will open the floor to free-roaming discussion and reflection, trusting the wisdom of the dynamic space that we organically create together.
Texts:
- Mary Attwood reading an excerpt from Joseph Milne’s lecture on Cosmos as Divine Revelation (accompanying image: Fra Filippo Lippi, The Adoration in the Forest, 1459)
- Louise Livingstone reading an excerpt from Hamish Miller & Paul Broadhurst’s The Sun and the Serpent (accompanying image: James Osmond/Getty Images)
Prior to the session, listen to Louise and Mary reading their chosen texts on Spotify (or your favourite podcasting platform). See the Spotify link here
Or, look for The Centre for Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred on your favourite podcasting platform to listen to the two readings.
