JOURNAL OF MYTH COSMOLOGY & THE SACRED

Ways of Seeing – Volume 1 Issue 1 (pdf download via Dropbox)
The Journal of Myth, Cosmology & the Sacred is a fully peer reviewed online journal arising out of the Centre for Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred.*
Our centre and journal create a space in which to engage with ‘impossible’ subjects which outreach the limits of the rational mind and require a new, imaginal voice which combines vision with discernment. We promote a conscious reflexivity, and what scholar Jeffrey Kripal calls “the prophetic function of the humanities” – to dare to move into uncharted territories of questioning and exploration of our own personal and cultural assumptions about the nature of reality and knowledge, and create new paradigms. As Kripal observes, “We are in the midst of a global climate crisis and another great extinction event … and if we do not recognize that we ourselves and our most cherished beliefs are themselves the problems, how can we effectively address such a global crisis?”
Through this online journal we aim to genuinely and creatively engage in this question, and to that end, our first issue is dedicated to the theme ‘Ways of Seeing’. We want to ensure that our work reaches as many people as possible, so we have made it possible to access the journal via donation. We sincerely appreciate any amount that you are able to give, to help us continue our important work.
