Gaia and the Tree of Life
with Dr Stephan Harding
Tuesday 15th November 2022 – 6:30pm – 8:00pm (UK Time) via Zoom

The Tree of Life is an ancient image that comes to us from deep in psyche. The Tree image has taken many forms in many cultures down the ages and has aided many individuals to discover the deepest secrets of their true happiness which they realised as inseparable from the well-being and health of nature, of Gaia, of our living earth. The ancient Greek myths tell us that Gaia was the first born of primordial Chaos and that she in turn gave birth to the starry heavens and then to all the beings here on earth. She is the mother of us all, including the Tree of Life.
In this talk we’ll explore whether myths and images of Gaia and The Tree of Life can in any way help us to solve our terrible contemporary global crisis. We will do this using science, depth psychology and music to harness the imaginative possibilities in the contemporary sciences of Gaia with the inner mythological powers of Gaia and the Tree of Life. Together we’ll enquire whether this might be a valid way of opening ourselves to rich experiences of embeddedness in the living body of our sacred animate earth, ready to act however we can in service of all her beings, peacefully and democratically.
For those who cannot attend live, there will be a recording available after the session has taken place. Simply book a ticket via the button below, and the recording link will be sent along with the joining instructions.
