Botticelli’s Primavera, Mysteries of the Divine Feminine

with Angela Voss & Mary Attwood

Sunday March 21st 2021 – 10:00am – 12:00 noon

In this session celebrating the Spring Equinox, Angela and Mary will introduce you to one of the most famous and iconic of Renaissance paintings by Botticelli, one of only four of his paintings inspired by pagan themes. We will explore the artistic techniques and motifs, along with the mythological, cosmological and metaphysical symbolism hidden under the surface of the exquisite spring-time garden. In this mythical and imaginal realm, all is ruled by a female deity who answers to many names, and each character speaks a story of their own whilst also contributing to a coherent narrative about the journey of the human soul. We will lead you into the painting and recreate the drama taking place, which is a universal and timeless one, its message sorely needed in our modern times.
